Only Smiles P/L is seeking a trainee Dental Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis at our Aspendale Gardens practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their career in dentistry to develop practical skills and gain valuable experience in a supportive clinical environment. As a trainee Dental Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our dental practitioners and ensuring our patients receive high-quality care in a welcoming and professional setting.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting dental practitioners during patient examinations and treatment procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments according to strict infection control protocols
- Recording patient information accurately and maintaining detailed clinical notes
- Providing chairside support, including passing instruments and managing suction during procedures.
- Supporting the dental team with sterilisation, stock management and general practice administration
- Ensuring compliance with dental practice standards and health and safety regulations.

What we're looking for

- Desire to complete a Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent certification recognised in Victoria
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise clinical protocols
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanour with patients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently and reliably in a fast-paced clinical environment




- Good organisational skills and the capacity to multitask effectively
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn dental practice management software
- A genuine passion for dentistry and a desire to deliver excellent patient care
