Systems Engineer (Level 2) - Managed Services

Managed Services - Systems Engineer (Level 2)- Bayswater

Skip the CBD commute. Varied technical work and an MSP that's been around since 1991.

About the role:

This is a hands-on Level 2 role with plenty of variety. You won't be stuck maintaining one client's stack, and you won't be passing every interesting ticket up the chain. You'll see problems through from start to finish across servers, networks, firewalls, cloud platforms and unified communications, for clients who value the advice you give them.

It suits someone who's past resetting passwords all day and wants more exposure, more responsibility, and a bigger part to play in project work.

On any given day you might be troubleshooting a Windows Server issue, tidying up Active Directory or a Microsoft 365 tenant, making a firewall or network change, provisioning 3CX handsets for a new site, and working through the ticket queue. Good ticket habits, transparent communication and documentation people can actually follow matter here. They're what keeps the rest of the team moving.

About Login Systems:

We're a privately owned Australian MSP and we've been delivering business technology and IT support since 1991. Plenty of our clients have been with us for years, because we get the technical work right and we're straight with people.

We're in a deliberate growth phase, with new clients coming on board each month, and we're expanding the technical team to keep up. There's room to move here: more complex work, more project involvement, and multiple paths within the business for the right person.

Technical Responsibilities:

- Windows Server administration, patching, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Microsoft 365 administration and tenant management
- Firewall configuration, rule changes, VPN setup
- Backup monitoring and remediation
- End-to-end ownership of assigned tickets, including scheduled maintenance
- Assist and/or lead in project work
- Clear, professional communication with clients, aligning your guidance with their business needs

Operational & Team Responsibilities

- Adhere to SLAs
- Accurate daily timesheet entry
- Participate in team meetings and support your colleagues
- Commit to ongoing training and certifications

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical detail to non-technical people
- High attention to detail and strong troubleshooting instincts
- Professional, reliable and organised, with real empathy for the people you're helping
- Happy to work in a team, help train others and step up when needed
- Not content just keeping systems running; you look for ways to improve them
- Solid grounding in servers, networking, firewalls and 3CX
- Valid driver’s licence is ESSENTIAL
- WatchGuard experience (Fireboxes, VPN tunnels, Firebox System Manager or WatchGuard Cloud)
- Deeper networking skills (VLANs, routing, switching, business-grade Wi-Fi)
- Vendor certifications (Microsoft, WatchGuard, CompTIA Network+, CCNA or similar)
- Azure and Intune exposure beyond the basics
- VoIP or unified comms platforms beyond 3CX
- Power Automate, or other automation and scripting experience
