Centacare North Queensland is seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our Family Relationship Centre in Townsville.

This is a meaningful, practice-focused role supporting families navigating parenting arrangements, care arrangements, property matters and separation decision making— always prioritising the best interests of children and young people.

Job Description

Your Impact

You will:

- Conduct client intake, risk and needs assessments
- Facilitate family dispute resolution and mediation processes
- Support parents to develop practical, child-focused parenting arrangements
- Apply child-inclusive and culturally responsive practice frameworks
- Ensure compliance with the Family Law Act and FDRP Regulations
- Maintain skilled standards and FDR accreditation




- Engage with community and sector stakeholders
- Contribute to a collaborative, best-practice team culture

This role offers a balanced caseload within a supportive structure that values reflective supervision and continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Law, or FDR/Mediation
- Accreditation (or eligibility) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
- Experience in child-focused dispute resolution practice
- Strong understanding of legislative and professional obligations
- High-level communication and assessment skills
- A commitment to ethical, culturally safe service delivery
