Mechanical Fitter - Field Service (Pumps)About the Role: We're looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a field service crew working on pump installation and repair across Central Coast water treatment sites.
This is physical, hands-on field work — we want tradespeople who don't mind rolling their sleeves up and getting through the job.
It's a genuine pathway to permanent employment with the client.What You'll Be Doing:Installation, removal and repair of pumps, motors and associated mechanical equipment (valves, actuators, gearboxes) across water treatment sitesPrecision alignment, bearing and mechanical seal replacementMechanical fault-finding, condition reporting and preventative maintenance on plant equipmentAssisting with the installation and testing of water treatment and process equipmentAdhering to company safety policies and procedures, including JSEAs, permits to work,



isolations and risk analysisInterpreting engineering drawings and writing service reportsProviding transparent job notes and photographs of work completedWorking as part of a 3-man field service crew on service & repair jobsRequirementsTrade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (no apprentices)Holds a White CardConfined Spaces ticket (or willing to obtain)Working at Heights ticket (or willing to obtain)At least 1 year post-trade experience in the pump industry, or some pump exposureWater treatment job experience highly regardedMR licence highly regardedOn-the-job training provided for lighter experienceTrade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (no apprentices)Holds a White CardConfined Spaces ticket (or willing to obtain)Working at Heights ticket (or willing to obtain)At least 1 year post-trade experience in the pump industry, or some pump exposureWater treatment job experience highly regardedMR licence highly regardedOn-the-job training provided for lighter experiencePenalty rates paidLong hours and plenty of overtime availableFully serviced work ute once made permanentCasual position via Rockmount, with the option to go full time with the client post-contract
