Strategic Events and Internal Communications Coordinator

- Fulltime maximum term position to 31 August 2027, based atour Little Collins Street (HQ) office
- Annual salary is $87,354 + 12% super

About the role:

If successful, you will lead and coordinate high‑qualityinternal communications that strengthen employee engagement,organisational culture and change delivery across AMES Australiaand advise, plan and execute AMES Australia’s flagship events. Therole plays a key advisory and delivery function, providingstrategic communications support, supervising end-to-end internalcampaigns, and managing complex events aligned to organisationalpriorities.

To be considered for this role,



you will be able todemonstrate the following key selection criteria:

- Minimum of a Degree in Marketing, Communications, PublicRelations or Media Studies; AND minimum of 3 years’ experiencein events management, marketing, communications or stakeholderengagement
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver multipleevents simultaneously, managing timelines, budgets, logisticsand stakeholder expectations with attention to detail andquality.
- Extensive knowledge of events management principlesincluding venue selection, supplier management, riskassessment, budget planning and post-eventevaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, write and edit engaginginternal communications content for multiple channels includingintranet, email, newsletters and digital platforms.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholdersacross all AMES Australia portfolios and external partners toidentify communication needs and deliver integratedcampaigns.
- Strong organisational and time management skills withcapacity to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines andwork flexibly across multiple locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills withcapacity to adapt messages and tone for different audiencesincluding staff, volunteers, clients and communityorganisations.




- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and provideinformal mentoring and guidance to volunteer and casual staffwith professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively andrespectfully with people from culturally and linguisticallydiverse (CALD) backgrounds.
- Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability,teamwork and professionalism, and demonstrated commitment toquality and continuous improvement principles.
