About the Role
Based at our Tufting manufacturing site in North Geelong, this role reports to the Process Manufacturing Manager and works closely with the OHS Manager.
As Safety Coordinator, you will provide practical OHS support across the site, partnering with managers, employees and operational teams drive a cultural change through coaching, training and monitoring the site safety requirements that will create safe work practices, support compliance and help drive a positive safety culture.
This is a full‑time,
on‑site role. Due to the operational and hands‑on nature of the position, there is no work‑from‑home flexibility.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be involved in a broad range of OHS and operational support activities, including:
Workplace Health & Safety
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of OHS policies, procedures and systems
- Assist and coach Managers and Supervisors with incident reporting, investigations, and provide visibility and accountability of corrective actions through our Rapid Global database
- Conducting and supporting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Maintaining safety records, registers and reporting dashboards
- Partnering with managers and team members to support OHS compliance and safe work practices
- Coordinating safety initiatives, training, inductions and toolbox activities
- Helping identify opportunities to improve safety processes and reduce workplace risk
Administration & Coordination
- Performing accurate data entry across OHS and manufacturing systems, including AS400, Rapid Global, Chemwatch and Power BI reports
- Maintaining digital filing systems, databases and safety documentation
- Preparing reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Providing general administrative support to the safety and operations teams
About You
You may already be working in a safety role, or you may have strong operational experience with a genuine interest in building a career in WHS.
You will bring:
- A Certificate IV in WHS is required
- A practical understanding of WHS/OHS principles and relevant legislation
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data and documentation
- Clear and confident communication skills, particularly with operational teams
- A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy manufacturing environment
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and similar business systems
