Steel Fabricator – Structural Steel AssemblyPrime Steel Engineering Pty LtdPrime Steel Engineering is seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our structural steel assembly team.
This is a hands-on role for a motivated individual who can accurately interpret shop drawings, assemble structural steel components, and work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop setting.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining high quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret shop drawings with a high level of accuracy.Assemble structural steel components in accordance with fabrication drawings and specifications.Perform tack welding to position and prepare structural steel members for final welding.Measure, mark, and align materials to ensure correct assembly.Work closely with supervisors, welders, and workshop personnel to achieve production targets.Assist team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.Manage and monitor stock inventory, materials,



and workshop consumables as required.Maintain quality standards throughout the fabrication process.Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Steel Fabricator within a structural steel fabrication setting.Excellent ability to read and interpret shop drawings.Welding experience, particularly tack welding of structural steel components.Strong understanding of fabrication processes and structural steel assembly.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to assist and support other team members when required.Experience managing stock inventory and material usage.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.Reliable, motivated, and safety-focused.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration based on experience.Stable, long-term employment prospect.Supportive team environment.Opportunity to work on a variety of structural steel projects.Modern workshop with ongoing growth prospects.
