Health and Safety Advisor (Logistics, automation, manufacturing)
Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to work a 6 month contract based in Sydney's South West.
In this hands‐on role, you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures across the organisation.
Working closely with operational teams, you will promote a proactive safety culture, drive legislative compliance, and reduce workplace risk across their site.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert health and safety advice to management and employees in accordance with the relevant codes of practice.
Develop, review, and implement WHS policies, secure work method statements (SWMS), and risk assessments.
Conduct regular workplace inspections, site audits, and hazard identification across South West Sydney operations.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain accurate WHS records including incident registers, inspection reports, training records, and SafeWork NSW notifications.
Deliver WHS inductions, toolbox talks, and training programmes to staff at all levels.




Monitor and communicate changes to WHS legislation, regulations, and Protected Work Australia guidance.
Support the development, testing, and review of emergency response and business continuity plans.
Prepare monthly WHS performance reports and present findings to senior management.
Drive a positive, proactive safety culture across all departments and work sites.
Assist with workers compensation claims and assist with return to work processes
Requirements
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher), or equivalent qualification recognised in NSW.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a WHS advisory or coordinator role within Australia.
Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, SWMS development, site audits, and incident investigations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
Experience working within manufacturing, warehousing, automation or logistics desirable
