The City of Newcastle (CN) invites an experienced and passionate individual to lead the Museum Archive Libraries & Learning (MALL) service unit. The role will plan and execute strategic vision, direction and future of Newcastle’s Museum and Libraries, while contributing to the cultural direction of the city.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver community‑activating programmes and online engagement designed for diverse visitors, members and the wider city.
- Lead the activation, engagement and reputation of the MALL service unit within the senior leadership team.
- Manage two direct reports (Program Lead and Engagement Coordinator) and a team of 13 programmers and engagers.
- Ensure staff development, engagement and accountability to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
- Set and maintain high standards of inclusive, diverse and high‑quality programming, events and digital engagement that showcase national‑level museum and library leadership.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated industry experience in programme development and engagement.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Passion for cultural service and community engagement.
- Ability to coordinate a high‑profile unit within a senior leadership team.
