The Power & HVAC Solutions Specialist is a customer‑facing technical sales role focused on growing Coates’ Power & HVAC offering across commercial, industrial and mining sectors.
Working closely with customers and the sales team, you will design and deliver tailored temporary heating and cooling solutions, applying your technical expertise to real‑world applications.
This role is ideal for a technically astute professional who enjoys being on‑site, engaging with customers, and providing solution‑based outcomes. Whether you’re an experienced technical salesperson or a qualified electrician or refrigeration mechanic looking to move into sales, this is an opportunity to build a long‑term career combining technical knowledge with commercial growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Engage with customers to understand their operational needs and challenges
- Design and recommend fit‑for‑purpose temporary Power & HVAC solutions
- Support the sales team to identify and convert new business opportunities
- Apply technical expertise across temporary power solutions, generators, BESS, HVAC packaged units, cooling towers and HVAC systems
- Manage projects from initial concept through to installation and delivery
- Build strong relationships across key industries including commercial, industrial and mining
- Contribute to the growth of Coates’ HVAC capability nationally
What you’ll bring to the role
- Electrical or Refrigeration trade qualification (highly regarded)
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and applications
- Interest or experience in technical sales or solution selling
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania as required
- Experience in industrial hire or rental industry (desirable, not essential)
- A proactive, can‑do attitude and desire to grow in a commercial, customer‑facing role
