OnPsych is seeking applicants for the role of Student Wellbeing Officer to join our team across Western Australia, with urgent need in Armadale, Port Hedland, Wickepin and most rural and remote schools.

Your background may be in welfare, education, psychology (provisional psychologists). Also, if you are either a fully registered or provisionally registered Psychologist, or an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, we have a number of other opportunities across Australia.

Working in this role, you will be responsible for providing wellbeing support services to students, promoting their overall wellbeing and mental resilience. The contract nature is casual paid per hour however the working hours may be varied and it is possible to service multiple schools in the area. The working roster is based around the Western Australian School Calendar.

What You'll Be Doing

- Develop and implement tailored wellbeing programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of students
- Provide one-on-one counselling and mentoring to students, offering guidance on personal, social and academic issues
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and other stakeholders to identify and address student needs




- Coordinate referrals to external support services as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of student wellbeing services

What We're Looking For

- Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology (including provisional psychologists), social work, education or a related field desired; the minimum requirement is a Cert IV Certificate in Mental Health (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in a student support or wellbeing role within an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students
- Thorough understanding of student development and the challenges they may face
- Commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable practices
- Willingness to commute between the schools
