Join our Medical Imaging team as a Registered Nurse - Clinical Coach. The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) within RHH delivers Level 6 medical imaging services and collaborates closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.

The Role

- Works in collaboration with and under the guidance of the NUM DMI to support and work collaboratively with less experienced nurses in the medical imaging team, participating in orientation, precepting, clinical teaching, overseeing learning experiences and goal setting for nursing novices and those new to medical imaging nursing.
- Is responsible for the clinical supervision, coaching and assessment of novice nurses and nurses new to imaging nursing in the clinical environment. The position works across all modalities in the Department of Medical Imaging.
- Works collaboratively with the education and clinical teams and supports the NUM in achieving learning and development goals in DMI.

You will need

- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support qualified and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives.




- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment

Permanent, full‑time shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants are also eligible to be considered for other full‑time, part‑time and casual vacancies for up to twelve months from publication of this notice.

$102,439 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances may be available:

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Desirable criteria include:

- Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
- Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
