The School
Denmark Senior High School (SHS) is a high performing secondary school located in the Shire of Denmark within the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The school provides a comprehensive Year 7 to Year 12 education on 19 hectares of land one kilometre east of the town centre.
The Role
Are you a passionate Home Economics teacher seeking to empower every student to strive to achieve? Denmark SHS is an Independent Public School seeking to appoint a highly competent, creative and innovative Home Economics teacher to join their team commencing in 2027. The successful applicant will ideally display a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive and reflective practice, ensuring that wellbeing, equity and engagement provide the foundation for achievement. They should possess the capacity to deliver a curriculum which is engaging, relevant and meaningful to students, and the ability to teach senior schooling courses relevant to this context will be looked upon favourably. The successful applicant will plan strategically for positive outcomes and apply high‑impact instructional strategies, continuously evaluate their effectiveness to ensure all students learn successfully. Skills to differentiate the curriculum for a range of abilities, including special needs, are highly regarded.
The candidate should aim to sustain a culture that promotes educational best practice and possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or Recent Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
