About business Adentron Pty Ltd trading as G&I; L.E.C. is an Australian-owned industrial services business based in Sunshine North. We provide electrical, mechanical maintenance and fabrication services to commercial and industrial clients across Victoria. To support our ongoing mechanical maintenance and installation work, we are seeking an experienced Fitter (General) to join our team.

About the role The successful applicant will undertake mechanical fitting, machinery installation, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance and repair work in our workshop and at client sites. The position requires a person who can work independently while coordinating safely with supervisors, electricians and other trades.

Key responsibilities

- Study engineering drawings, specifications and machinery layouts to determine materials, fitting methods, work sequences and equipment requirements.
- Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and mechanical subassemblies used in industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Dismantle machinery to identify worn or defective components, then repair, replace and reassemble bearings, shafts, seals, couplings, pulleys, belts and mechanical drives.
- Inspect components for accuracy, clearance and fit using vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring instruments.
- Install, align and maintain pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective and scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Cut, thread, bend,



assemble and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes, hoses and lines.
- Test repaired or installed machinery to confirm protected and correct operation before returning equipment to service.
- Assist with machinery installation, commissioning, planned shutdowns and maintenance activities at client sites.
- Complete maintenance records and follow WHS, risk-control and lockout/tagout procedures, liaising with licensed electricians where electrical work is required.

Qualifications and experience

- A relevant AQF Certificate III with appropriate on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or an equivalent overseas trade qualification.
- At least two years of recent practical experience in industrial mechanical fitting, machinery installation, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Practical experience with pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
- A current Construction Induction Card (White Card), EWP licence and forklift licence.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites across Victoria.

Desirable Current working-at-heights and confined-space training will be regarded favourably where applicable to the work. Base salary: $90000 - $100,000 per annum plus superannuation, overtime and applicable allowances paid separately.
