Modern Painting is a professional painting and decorating business delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and construction painting services. We are committed to producing excellent workmanship while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Painter to join our growing team.

This role offers the prospect to work across a variety of projects while contributing to the delivery of quality finishes for our clients. Key Responsibilities As a Qualified Painter, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, scaffolding, protective coverings, and masking materials. Inspect and prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, filling cracks and holes, sealing, and priming before painting. Select suitable paints, coatings, stains, and finishes according to project requirements.

Mix and tint paints to achieve the required colour and finish. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Complete painting work on interior and exterior surfaces of residential, commercial, and multi-residential buildings.

Install wallpaper and decorative wall coverings where required. Protect surrounding fixtures, fittings, and surfaces throughout the painting process. Carry out minor repairs to timber and other surfaces before painting.

Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups to ensure a high-quality finish. Clean, maintain, and store painting tools, equipment, and materials.



Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, builders, subcontractors, and clients to complete projects efficiently. Assist with colour matching and maintenance painting as required. Perform minor glazing or window repair work where necessary.

About You The successful applicant will have:

Qualifications A recognised trade qualification in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent qualification. Experience

Applicants should have: A minimum of three years' experience working as a Painter in residential, commercial, or construction projects. Skills and Attributes

Strong knowledge of painting methods, coatings, and surface preparation. Experience using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and associated painting tools. Ability to produce high-quality finishes with excellent attention to detail.

Good colour matching and paint mixing skills. Ability to interpret work instructions and project specifications. Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team. Commitment to workplace health and safety practices. Reliable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic.
