The Principal Engineer is our most senior engineering contributor within a domain. You will provide deep technical leadership across multiple teams, shaping our long-term technical vision and guiding the evolution of our systems and platforms. This role combines architectural thinking, hands-on technical expertise, and strategic influence to ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and sustainable.

Acting as a trusted advisor to Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and senior leadership, you will foster a culture of engineering excellence. You'll champion modern practices and mentor engineers across the organisation to lift capability, solve complex problems, and improve delivery performance.

In this role you’ll get to…

- Provide deep technical leadership and strategic influence across multiple teams to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and sustainable.
- Lead the design and evolution of core systems,



shaping the long-term technical vision through architectural thinking and hands-on expertise.
- Champion modern practices in testing, observability, security, and CI/CD to uplift engineering quality and reduce technical debt.
- Act as a senior mentor and coach to engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and lifting capability across the organisation.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and senior leadership to align technical solutions with product strategy and business goals.
- AI-enabled engineering tools and patterns

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and the design of large-scale platforms. Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages and design paradigms is expected.
- Extensive experience as a senior engineer, architect, or technical lead in complex environments, with a proven track record of leading the design and delivery of high-impact technical systems.
- Strong ability to navigate between tactical solutions and strategic impact, with expertise in reliability, observability, performance optimization, and security-by-design.
- Excellent communication and influence skills,



with the ability to lead through mentorship and coaching rather than authority.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, and can be located at any of our Head Office locations.
