Join a large and complex organisation undertaking a significant digital transformation program designed to modernise operational services and improve decision-making capabilities. Based in Brisbane CBD, this initial 24-month contract offers the chance to shape the user experience of a new operational platform that will bring together enterprise, geospatial, IoT and operational systems into a single digital environment.
Your new role
As the UI/UX Design Lead, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the user experience for a large-scale operational platform. Working closely with technical teams, stakeholders and end users, you will transform complex processes and operational information into intuitive, user-friendly experiences that support day-to-day decision-making.
You will take ownership of user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and design systems while helping establish consistent design standards and reusable components across the platform. This is a unique opportunity to influence the design direction of a strategic long-term program from its early stages.
Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the end-to-end user experience and interaction design for a large operational platform
- Designing dashboards, workflows, forms, alerts, maps and operational views
- Developing user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and reusable design components
- Creating and maintaining scalable design systems and interaction patterns
- Partnering with business stakeholders to understand workflows, operational requirements and user needs
- Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure designs are practical and achievable




- Supporting accessibility, usability and responsive design principles
- Driving continuous improvement through testing, feedback and iterative design practices.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong UI/UX, Product Design or Digital Experience expertise gained within enterprise or complex application environments.
You'll have experience with:

- UI/UX design for enterprise or business-critical applications
- Figma, wireframing, prototyping and user journey mapping
- Design systems and reusable component libraries
- Dashboard, workflow and operational interface design
- Angular, React or modern front-end environments
- Responsive design, accessibility and usability best practices
- Stakeholder workshops, requirements gathering and discovery activities
- Collaborating with developers to translate concepts into working solutions.

Experience designing complex operational platforms, data-rich applications or workflow-driven systems will be highly regarded. Exposure to geospatial, infrastructure, utilities, transport or operational technology environments would be advantageous.
