The opportunity

Our Public Place Team plays an important role in keeping our public spaces clean and tidy for our community, providing a high-quality cleaning service including garbage services, minor maintenance services, and other operational duties to ensure an enjoyable, attractive and safe public place for our community of Port Stephens.

This role is based in the East of our Local Government Area, working across Soldiers Point, Salamander Bay, Corlette, Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Fingal Bay, One Mile Beach, Boat Harbour, Anna Bay, Taylors Beach and Bobs Farm and at times also assisting the West team in and around Salt Ash, Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Heatherbrae, Tomago, Fern Bay, Hinton, Seaham and Karuah.

This job is perfect for candidates who love an early start and early finish, with shift hours starting at 4:30am and finishing at 1:30pm, with weekend work required on a rotating roster.

- This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time, 38 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
- Base Salary Range: $63,330 - $66,473 pa based on 38 hours / week + 12% Superannuation + Adverse Working Conditions Allowance + $2,562 Retention Allowance + Overtime (If working weekends)
- You will be working from Nelson Bay Depot however, working across all locations in the East of our Local Government Area as listed above.

- Experience in commercial cleaning, industrial cleaning, or housekeeping/grounds maintenance experience
- Ability to work safely using manual handling techniques
- Prior experience using small plant items such as water blasters, sweepers and blowers
- Class LR Licence or ability to obtain
