We're looking for a seasoned Principal Consultant to join our Professional Services team. This role requires a deep expertise in Cohesity Data Protect solutions, including appliances, alongside strong experience in Windows and Linux administration. The ideal candidate will also have a proven track record of delivering technical solutions in VMware and cloud environments, and additional knowledge of container-based technologies is considered a plus.

As part of the Professional Services team, you will work closely with clients to design, deploy, and optimize backup and recovery solutions that align with their business goals. This client-facing role combines technical proficiency with exceptional communication and project management skills.

The role will be based in Australia, preferably in Melbourne or Sydney, and will be part of a Global team, that could also require delivering projects and engagement for other regions/countries.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

Client Engagement and Solution Design

- Collaborate with clients to understand business needs, objectives, and technical requirements during the entire Customer Lifecycle from pre-sales to delivery and operationalisation.
- Propose & design tailored backup and recovery architectures & solutions leveraging Cohesity Data Protect.
- Conduct technical workshops and presentations to demonstrate solution value.

Implementation and Deployment

- Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of Cohesity Data Protect environments for clients.
- Perform system integrations with Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards.





Technical Troubleshooting and Optimization

- Serve as the escalation point for advanced technical challenges during and post-deployment.
- Analyse and resolve complex issues in backup environments.
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimize client environments for reliability and efficiency.

Professional Services Delivery

- Provide professional and timely technical support and consultation to clients.
- Deliver detailed project documentation, including architecture designs, configuration guides, and operational best practices.
- Ensure project milestones are met within scope, timeline, and budget.

Container-Based Solutions

- Assist in designing and deploying backup strategies for containerized environments, such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Collaborate with clients exploring modernized infrastructure solutions.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables.
- Train and mentor client teams to ensure smooth handover and knowledge transfer.
- Flexibility to travel outside of the region if required

Security Clearance

- Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) and/or Negative Vetting 2 (NV2)



Australian Government security clearances for handling classified information (preferred but not mandatory)

Education & Experience

- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Cohesity Data Protect in professional services or client‑facing roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows and Linux administration.
- Proven track record working with VMware and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Skills

- Exceptional client communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and backup best practices.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of container‑based technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cohesity Data Protect, VMware, AWS, Azure).
- Previous experience in a Professional Services or consulting role is highly desirable.
- Fluent in spoken and written English

Travel Requirements

- 50% domestic and regional travel required.
