Airport Development Group (ADG) owns and operates airports across the Northern Territory, connecting communities, supporting industry, and enabling economic growth across Northern Australia.
As part of our continued transformation journey, we're delivering Program Alkina, a significant enterprise-wide initiative encompassing organisational redesign, ERP implementation, business process improvement, and enterprise governance.
We're seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Human Resources & Change to join the Program Alkina team on a fixed-term contract through to June 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for a HR and change professional to influence the future state of ADG by helping implement new systems, modernise workforce processes, strengthen governance, and support the successful adoption of change across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Director, the SME – Human Resources & Change plays a critical role in ensuring that people, processes, policies, and systems are aligned throughout Program Alkina.
Working closely with HR, operational teams, business leaders, and implementation partners, you will provide subject matter expertise across HR systems, workforce processes, organisational policies, compliance initiatives, change management, training, and business readiness activities.
You will help ensure ADG successfully transitions to recent ERP and HR platforms while supporting employees through organisational and technology change.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Systems & Workforce Processes
- Provide expert input into HR systems, frameworks, and workforce processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and review workflows.
- Ensure HR processes support organisational objectives and future-state operating models.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee and manager experiences through streamlined processes and technology.
ERP & HR System Implementation
- Support the implementation of enterprise systems, including ERP and HR platforms.
- Assist with business readiness, process alignment, testing, and cutover activities.
- Support the transition of business operations into new systems, including Infor and ReadyTech HR solutions.
- Contribute to successful go-live planning and post-implementation adoption activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions and locations, including Darwin and Cairns.
- Gather requirements, validate solutions, and support decision-making processes.
- Build strong relationships across HR, operational, and leadership teams.
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, and engagement sessions to support program outcomes.
Testing, Validation & Training
- Participate in system testing, validation,
quality assurance, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Identify and document defects, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop training materials, user guides, and knowledge transfer resources.
- Deliver training and support to end users to ensure confidence and capability in new systems and processes.
Policies, Procedures & Employee Documentation
- Lead the review and update of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook documentation.
- Ensure documentation aligns with organisational requirements, legislation, and best practice.
- Support the development and maintenance of broader program documentation and process materials.
Governance, Compliance & Assurance
- Support governance and assurance activities across the program.
- Contribute to compliance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and workforce practices align with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Maintain awareness of emerging compliance risks and support mitigation activities.
Change Management
- Act as a champion for organisational transformation and change.
- Support communication, engagement, training, and readiness activities across the business.
- Help teams successfully navigate organisational and technology changes.
- Drive adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working while minimising disruption.
Health, Safety & Risk
- Support the alignment of HR policies and workforce practices with ADG's health and safety obligations.
- Apply ADG's Risk Management Framework to identify and manage risks.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all activities.
- Support cyber security awareness and compliance with ADG policies and procedures.
About You
You are an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of organisational change, workforce processes, and business transformation. You enjoy working collaboratively, influencing outcomes, and helping organisations successfully implement complex change initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Human Resources, organisational change, business transformation, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting HRIS, payroll, recruitment, or ERP implementation projects.
- Robust understanding of HR policies, governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and workforce processes.
- Experience conducting system testing, validation, training, and user support activities.
- Proven ability to manage change requests and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple business units and geographically dispersed locations.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with Infor, ReadyTech, TechnologyOne, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Change Management, Organisational Development, or a related field.
- Experience reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Exposure to governance, assurance, compliance, health and safety, or risk management environments.
