A well-established disputes and public sector practice is looking to appoint a Lawyer, Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team, working across administrative law, merits review and broader government-related litigation matters.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of administrative and litigation‑related matters, including:

- Managing a caseload of merits review and administrative law matters
- Preparing submissions, evidence summaries and case strategies
- Tribunal appearances, conferences and negotiations
- Advising on legislative interpretation and administrative decision‑making
- Working across sensitive, complex and procedurally driven matters
- Supporting litigation strategy and dispute resolution processes
- Engaging with internal stakeholders, counsel and external parties
- Assisting with process improvement, legal risk management and broader governance initiatives
- Conducting legal research and preparing clear, practical advice
- Depending on level, taking ownership of matters, mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to broader client relationships

The work is varied, detail‑oriented and often strategically important, offering strong exposure to advocacy, statutory interpretation and broader public sector‑related legal issues.

This is a collaborative and high‑performing team that works across a broad mix of administrative, regulatory and disputes‑related matters on a national basis.

You will work closely with experienced practitioners across multiple offices while being given meaningful autonomy, client exposure and responsibility appropriate to your level. About You

You may be a strong fit if you have:

- 1–8 years’ PQE in government litigation, administrative law, tribunal work, disputes or a related area
- Experience in merits review, regulatory matters or broader public law work will be highly regarded
- Strong written advocacy, drafting and analytical capability
- Confidence in handling sensitive or procedurally complex matters
- Exposure to tribunal advocacy, hearings, negotiations or dispute resolution processes
- Ability to interpret and apply legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Strong judgement, professionalism and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence working both autonomously and collaboratively
- For more senior candidates, the ability to manage matters, mentor junior lawyers and contribute to strategic client outcomes
