Your new company Join a well-established infrastructure organisation delivering major transport and construction projects across South East Queensland. With a strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement, this organisation plays a key role in supporting critical project delivery within both operational and construction environments.
Your new role As a Project Safety Adviser, you will provide expert safety and environmental advice to project teams, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and project safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting project managers to develop and implement effective safety strategies and processes.
- Reviewing contractor safety documentation, including Safety Management Plans and Protected Work Method Statements.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across construction and project environments.
- Investigating incidents and providing recommendations to improve safety performance.
- Monitoring contractor safety performance and reporting on key safety metrics.
- Developing and maintaining safety and environmental management systems to ensure ongoing compliance with workplace health and safety, rail safety and environmental legislation.
- Delivering safety training and supporting ongoing capability development across project teams.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in construction, infrastructure, rail or major project safety environments.
- Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and safety management systems.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations, audits and compliance assessments.
- The ability to influence, coach and provide practical safety advice to a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training and education programs.
- Strong understanding of contemporary safety practices and risk management principles.
- The ability to travel to project sites and support project teams across multiple locations when required.
