About the Role
As the Head of Children, Families and Youth, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across the Children, Families and Youth service portfolios, ensuring high quality, sustainable, and client focused outcomes.
This role represents a shift from operational service management to system leadership, with responsibility for driving performance, service innovation, workforce capability, financial sustainability, and effective governance across the portfolio.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will work closely with internal teams, government, and community partners to drive collaboration, strengthen service systems and translate strategy into meaningful outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based at our Wodonga office. This newly created role offers a competitive salary package of $170,000 – $180,000, inclusive of fully maintained company vehicle and superannuation.
This role can be based in either Wodonga or Wangaratta, however travel will be required between both sites and to our Shepparton office.
What You Can Expect
- Lead and influence the strategic direction and performance of Children, Families and Youth services.
- Shape and improve service systems to deliver better outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- Use data, insights, and evidence to drive continuous improvement and informed decision making.
- Provide strong leadership across workforce capability, financial performance, governance, and risk management.
- Build strategic partnerships and represent the organisation across government, community, and sector networks.
- Lead change and translate strategy into action to create meaningful outcomes for the community.
About You
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience with accountability for service delivery, performance and strategic outcomes within complex human services environments
- Strong capability in service improvement, financial management, workforce planning, and operational delivery.
- Experience building high-performing teams, strengthening leadership capability and workforce sustainability.
- Sound knowledge of governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead change and translate strategy into effective operational delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across government, community, and sector partners.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. social work, psychology, community services, management) or equivalent experience.
- A leadership, business, or management qualification, or a demonstrated willingness to undertake further study in a relevant leadership or business discipline.
- Must have or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
