Program Coordinator – The Kirby Institute

- Employment Type: Part-time (14 hours a week)
- Remuneration: $92,265 base pro‑rata, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
- Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.

About The Kirby Institute

The Kirby Institute is a world‑leading health research institute at UNSW Sydney, focused on eliminating infectious diseases globally and developing health solutions for at‑risk communities.

Details of the role

The Program Coordinator provides effective day‑to‑day administrative support within the Kirby Institute to ensure all services are delivered efficiently for the Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program and supports the H2Seq genomics in public health research project.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading health research environment by providing high‑level administrative and project support across a energetic research program. Working closely with researchers, project leads and stakeholders, the Coordinator will coordinate meetings and events, manage financial and administrative processes, maintain systems and records, and support project delivery.

The role reports to the Head of the Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities and Requirements

- At least two years relevant experience gained through education, training or employment.
- Advanced time‑management, organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.




- Well‑developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective support to colleagues or clients at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with financial reconciliation, purchase tracking and associated software packages such as Concur.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
