As a Career Advocate, you'll play a key role in TAG's Workforce Australia program, working closely with participants to assess their skills and needs, and co-design a tailored plan to move them towards sustainable employment or education. You'll manage a caseload of participants, match them to suitable vacancies or training, and build relationships with local employers to create real opportunities in the Kalgoorlie community.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete initial interviews and accurately assess participants' strengths, skills and work readiness
- Co-design tailored plans with participants, including specific goals, activities and timeframes
- Support participants with multiple social, cultural and personal barriers to employment
- Match participants' skills and attributes to current or potential vacancies or training
- Reverse market participants to potential employers and source suitable, sustainable placements
- Refer participants to other services as needed to manage barriers to employment or education
- Accurately maintain participant records in ESS, Job Ready and other systems as required
- Support individuals once placed into employment or education
- Engage local businesses and organisations to identify employment opportunities
- Promote TAG's training and other program offerings
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate small groups
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage job seekers from a range of backgrounds
- A track record of meeting performance targets and managing time to deadlines
- Explicit, concise writing skills for case notes and reports
- Sound IT and administration skills
- Enthusiasm, flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude
Candidates must be willing to undergo a National Police Check and hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check.
