Visiting Dental Officer – Oral Surgery – Population and Community Health (PaCH) – Quinquennium 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2032

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District invites applications for a Visiting Dental Officer in Oral Surgery within the Population and Community Health unit for the quinquennium period 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2032.

The specialist will provide expert clinical assessment and management of patients within the department/service, working across multiple facilities as agreed with the Director of Medical Services.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert dental and oral surgical care in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary health professionals to deliver high‑standard clinical service.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research relevant to the role.
- Engage in teaching activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as hospital staff.
- Model professional behaviour and contribute to a positive teamwork culture.

Qualifications & Experience

- Registered with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA), with AHPRA Registration Number available.
- Fellowship (FRACDS) or eligibility for Fellowship prior to July 2027, or equivalent specialist recognition.




- Evidence of continuing professional development and audit practices aligned with scope of practice.
- Proven experience delivering high‑quality service in an oral surgery setting, with evidence of participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate/postgraduate students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively across multiple sites.
- Commitment to research and continuous improvement in patient care.

Additional Information

To be considered for this position, applicants must comply with NSW Health policy PD2026_004, provide vaccination history and pathology, and be compliant with all employment prerequisites.
