Canfab Powdercoating is seeking a Yardsman/Labourer/Trainee Powdercoater to join our team on a full-time basis at our Fyshwick facility in ACT 2609. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the powdercoating and manufacturing industry. You will play a vital role in supporting our operations, learning valuable trade skills, and contributing to the efficient delivery of our services. This position offers the chance to grow from a labourer into a skilled tradesperson through hands‑on training and mentorship within a supportive work environment.

What you'll be doing

Performing general yard duties including material handling, stock management, and organisation of work areas

Assisting with the preparation of components and materials for powdercoating processes

Supporting experienced powdercoaters by learning and observing techniques and best practices

Operating and maintaining basic equipment used in the powdercoating operation under supervision

Cleaning and maintaining work areas to ensure a safe, organised and hygienic workplace

Filling in job sheets and measuring jobs ready for production

Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods and finished products

Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting colleagues as required

Following all workplace health and safety procedures and protocols

Progressively developing powdercoating skills through structured on-the-job training

Loading and unloading trucks using forklift

What we're looking for

A strong work ethic and genuine motivation to learn a skilled trade in the powdercoating industry





Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment

Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and carrying materials

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude to work

Current driver's licence

Forklift licence a must

Previous experience in manufacturing, powdercoating or related industries is desirable but not essential

Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills on the job
