South Bunbury Community Aged Care is excited to welcome an Chef Assist to join our team as we open the doors to our brand‑new, 180‑bed aged care home, in November 2026

This is a rare opportunity to be part of the initial commissioning team, helping shape the dining experience and kitchen operations from day one within a state‑of‑the‑art commercial kitchen.

The role is offered on a permanent part‑time basis, with a planned start date in early to mid‑November 2026.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional, passionate and motivated Chef to deliver high-quality culinary experiences and lead our kitchen team at South Bunbury Community Aged Care. You will be instrumental in helping establish workflows, standards and food service excellence as part of the commissioning phase.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team—including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Personal Carers, General Practitioners, Allied Health professionals, residents and families—to deliver restaurant‑quality dining experiences tailored to the needs of older adults.

About You

You are a qualified Chef with experience spanning fine dining through to dynamic aged care environments, bringing creativity,



solid leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

You will be valued for your ability to:

- Lead and mentor a food services team
- Develop innovative menu plans
- Manage budgets and costings effectively
- Build strong relationships with industry suppliers
- Develop and implement high‑quality food safety and compliance processes
- Support residents with varied dietary needs, including textured and modified diets
- Bring a positive, solutions‑focused attitude to a commissioning environment

To Be Considered, You Will Bring

- Current trade qualifications and Food Safety Supervisor qualification (HLTSS00061), issued within the last five years (Essential)
- A current Police Check (within 12 months) (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of catering principles and food service operations
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a catering team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to OH&S; and continuous improvement
- Experience developing menus within set budgets
- Ability to manage clinically required diets
- A positive can‑do attitude
