Fullbore Quarry Services is seeking a motivated Trade Assistant to join our growing team in Somerton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work and wants to build a long‑term career in the drill & blast and quarry industry.

You’ll work alongside our experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Light Vehicle Mechanics and Drill Fitters while gaining exposure to specialised drilling equipment. For the right person, this role offers a genuine pathway into our Drill & Blast Operations team.

About the Role

Based at our Somerton workshop, you’ll play an key role supporting our maintenance team and ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Light Vehicle Mechanics and Drill Fitters with daily workshop activities
- Cleaning, preparing and maintaining drilling equipment and machinery
- Bit grinding and drill consumable maintenance
- Picking up and delivering parts and materials
- Stores, inventory and parts management
- Loading and unloading equipment
- General workshop housekeeping and organisation
- Assisting with servicing and repairs as directed
- Supporting machine mobilisation and preparation for site
- Other general Trade Assistant duties as required

About You

To be successful,



you’ll have:

- Current manual driver’s licence (essential)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and reliable attendance
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in heavy equipment
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced workshop
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- Previous workshop or trade assistant experience (preferred but not essential)
