Role & Responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement Delivery: Develop and execute comprehensive program-level procurement strategies aligned fully with departmental policies and commercial frameworks.
- Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Lead end-to-end commercial lifecycle activities, including rigorous vendor selection, contract negotiation, and formal contract establishment.
- Performance & Risk Oversight: Maintain proactive oversight of supplier performance, tracking critical deliverables, managing commercial risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Governance Compliance:
Ensure all sourcing activities strictly adhere to institutional procurement governance processes and Commonwealth compliance standards.
- Operational Transition: Manage established contracts post-finalisation to facilitate a smooth, efficient transition of ownership back to business operations.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Procurement Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing complex, program-level procurements and high-value contracts within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong background in driving vendor selection, managing competitive evaluations, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Risk & Performance Management: Proven capability in monitoring vendor deliverables, analyzing commercial risk, and managing ongoing vendor performance.
- Core Capabilities: Excellent collaboration skills with a versatile, transparent approach to providing timely advisory support to senior executives and integrated PMO divisions.
- Government Frameworks: Comprehensive understanding of public sector procurement policies, governance requirements, and federal sourcing guidelines.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the secure nature of this federal environment, candidates must hold a current NV1 security clearance, with an NV2 clearance preferred.
