This is more than simply running group activities - it is about getting to know each resident, understanding their interests and supporting their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

About the role

Working as part of our lifestyle and care team, you will:

- Spend meaningful one-to-one time with residents who may not participate in group activities.
- Assist with celebrations, outings, community events and visiting programs.
- Support residents living with dementia to participate in suitable and meaningful activities.
- Gather feedback from residents and help improve the lifestyle program.
- Maintain appropriate lifestyle records and participation documentation.
- Work collaboratively with care staff, volunteers, families and community groups.
- Assist residents safely and respectfully in accordance with their individual care needs.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

- Genuinely enjoys spending time with older people.
- Is friendly, patient, respectful and dependable.
- Can communicate confidently with residents, families and colleagues.
- Brings creativity, enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
- Can work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understands the importance of dignity, choice, privacy and person-centred care.
- Has basic computer and documentation skills.
- Is willing to obtain all required employment and aged care screening checks.

A Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or similar qualification is desirable. Experience in aged care, disability, community services, recreation or a comparable role will also be highly regarded.

Why join Koonambil?

Koonambil is a community-owned aged care and retirement living provider with strong connections to Coonamble and the surrounding region. We are focused on providing safe, respectful and genuinely person-centred care.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Build meaningful relationships with residents.
- Contribute ideas and help shape the lifestyle program.
- Work within a close and supportive team.
- Make a visible difference in a small rural aged care home.
- Access applicable not-for-profit salary packaging benefits.

Koonambil Aged Care is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for residents, employees and visitors. The successful applicant will be required to complete satisfactory pre-employment screening and provide evidence of their right to work in Australia.
