Our Operations team is currently seeking a passionate and motivated Quality Assurance Lead to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to quality excellence, ensuring all systems are maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Lead will manage Quality and compliance across the Flexible Packaging plant; this is a great opportunity for an experienced Quality professional to take their next career step. We will rely on you to provide valuable support in our busy day-to-day operations and work closely with all business units on a national basis. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials, packaging, and production inputs to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Perform start-up, in-process,
and final quality inspections on blown film and converted products.
- Measure, test, and record critical product characteristics, including film dimensions, physical properties, and performance standards.
- Verify production outputs against customer specifications, product standards, work orders, and quality control requirements.
- Identify, document, quarantine, and communicate non-conforming materials, supporting investigations, corrective actions, and complaint-resolution.
- Maintain accurate quality records, test results, certificates, retained samples, and release documentation in line with site procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, support trials, product development, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality, food packaging, hygiene, safety, audit, calibration, traceability, and housekeeping requirements while promoting a strong quality culture.
Who we are looking for:
You will preferably have 5 years’ experience in quality role(s) in a manufacturing environment or similar, such as packaging, food or pharmaceutical industries. You are confident, reliable, able to make decisions, highly adaptable, consultative in your approach and a strong team player. You will also have:
- Previous experience in quality assurance, laboratory testing, blown film extrusion, flexible packaging, plastics manufacturing, or FMCG packaging is desirable, but not essential.
- Experience working within ISO 9001, HACCP, BRCGS, GMP, food contact packaging, or similar quality systems is required.
- Experience with customer complaint investigations, non-conformance management, audit preparation, and product release processes is required.
- Availability to travel interstate when required
- Certificate/Diploma in Quality Assurance is preferred but not essential
- Certificate in Internal Auditing and experience in internal auditing is desirable
- Exposure to workplace health and safety, food safety where applicable, hygiene, housekeeping, and environmental standards.
