Head Carpenter / All-Round Tradesman – Commercial Fitouts

We’re looking for an experiencedqualified carpenter / all-round tradesmanto join our team working across commercial fit out projects.

This is not a role where you’ll be doing carpentry all day, every day. We’re a builder, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting involved inall aspects of a projectand doing whatever is required to keep the job moving.

You’ll work closely with our Project Managers while taking the lead on site with a team oftwo apprentice carpenters.

The Role

Your day-to-day work will include:

- Leading and working alongside two apprentice carpenters
- General carpentry and fit out works
- Reading plans and working from drawings
- Coordinating day-to-day works with our Project Managers
- Keeping apprentices productive and helping develop their skills
- Site set-up, protection and preparation
- Defects, finishing and detailed works
- General building and miscellaneous trade works
- Assisting other trades where required
- Problem-solving and working through issues on site
- Keeping the site organised, clean and moving efficiently
- Making sure works are completed to a high standard

Who We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who is:

- Aqualified carpenter
- Experienced in commercial fitouts




- Confident running and supervising apprentices
- Hands‑on and happy to work alongside the team
- An all‑rounder who isn't afraid to take on work outside of carpentry
- Able to read plans and understand construction details
- Able to communicate well with Project Managers, subcontractors and clients
- Reliable, organised and able to think ahead
- Particular about quality and finishing
- Able to work independently without needing to be constantly supervised

Most importantly, we want someone with the right attitude. If something needs doing on site, we want someone who is willing to get in and get it done rather than saying,“that’s not my trade.”

About the Position

This is a hands‑on role with plenty of responsibility and would suit an experienced carpenter who wants to step into aleading role within a commercial building company.

You’ll have two apprentices working with you and the support of our Project Managers, but we want someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day works on site and help us deliver quality projects.
