Job Description
The Key responsibilities of this role are;
- Implement and deliver management accounting services, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legislative requirements and statutory obligations
- Lead the development and implementation of financial management compliance framework, ensuring that internal financial controls are operating efficiently, effectively, and economically.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on financial performance, identifying improvement areas, cost-saving opportunities, and new funding strategies; and strategic procurement strategies
- Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, providing expert advice to the Executive Director and Executive Leadership Team.
- Oversee and provide assurance in the procurement and contract management function, driving best value outcomes
- Identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio through financial performance analysis, ensuring achievement of financial targets and timely, accurate forecasts.
- Assist in developing and reviewing the reporting systems, policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to facilitate effective financial management.
- Exercise high level interpersonal, consultation and communication skills with stakeholders, team members and external contacts.
- Provide advice, guidance, and direction to the Senior Finance Officer and Senior Facilities, Procurement and Contract Management Officer
The Successful Applicant
A successful candidate should have:
- Proven expertise in financial management within the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading and managing teams effectively.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field
