Raven Engineering Group is seeking motivated and experienced On-Site Field Technicians to join our growing installation team. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role working on critical water storage infrastructure throughout Australia. Our projects include the construction, refurbishment, inspection and maintenance of steel panel water tanks, concrete reservoirs, fire water storage systems and potable water infrastructure across mining, industrial, commercial, defence, local government and utility sectors.
This is not a factory-based position. Every project is different, with work taking place on active construction sites, industrial facilities, remote mine sites, processing plants, commercial developments and government infrastructure. Regular travel throughout Australia is required, with projects ranging from several days to several weeks in duration.
As a Field Technician, you will work as part of a qualified installation crew responsible for constructing bolted steel panel tanks, installing potable and fire water liners, installing concrete pit liners, completing waterproofing systems, replacing roofs and structural components, carrying out repairs and refurbishments, assisting with mechanical installations, and delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
The role involves working in confined spaces, at heights, around cranes and lifting equipment, and in challenging environments where planning, communication and strict adherence to safety procedures are essential. Successful applicants must be comfortable working inside tanks and reservoirs, climbing structures, handling heavy materials, operating power tools and completing physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
Typical duties include constructing sectional steel panel tanks from engineering drawings, installing and tensioning reinforced potable water liners, fitting floor and wall lining systems, installing concrete pit liners and waterproofing membranes,
assembling roofs and internal support structures, sealing joints, installing pipe penetrations and fittings, carrying out structural repairs, replacing corroded components, installing access ladders and platforms, assisting with lifting operations, loading and unloading materials, preparing work areas, maintaining equipment and completing quality assurance documentation throughout each project.
Applicants should possess strong mechanical aptitude and be capable of safely using hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment and construction machinery. Previous experience within tank construction, liner installation, waterproofing, structural steel erection, mechanical fitting, rigging, industrial maintenance, construction or similar industries will be highly regarded.
Safety is a core value at Raven Engineering Group. Every member of our team is expected to actively participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements while maintaining the highest standard of housekeeping and hazard awareness on every project. Our technicians represent the company directly to clients and are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team. We value individuals who take ownership of their work, communicate openly, maintain high standards of workmanship and consistently contribute to a positive team culture.
