About The Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit

The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department provides adult cardiac and thoracic surgical care for all Monash Health patients. Currently there aresixsenior surgical staff members appointed to the Department. Cardiac surgery procedures are performed at the Victorian Heart Hospital, whilst thoracic surgery procedures are performed MMC,



Clayton witha very smallnumber of thoracic surgery procedures are performed at Dandenong Hospital. There is a strong academic program within the Department and a close research affiliation with Monash University and the organisations within the Monash Medical Centre Research Precinct, including the Victorian Heart Institute which is domiciled with the Victorian Heart Hospital.

About the role

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person-centred care, provide teaching and supervision of residentMedicalstaff and students and undertake training towardsattainingFellowship of The Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the followingdemonstratedskills,experienceand knowledge:

Outline skills / experience / attitude

- Has theappropriate levelof clinical knowledge and skills to undertake the role of surgical registrar
- Capacity to be an effective member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Team

Mandatory requirements of the role:

- Primary medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent
- All candidates will require Australian working rights
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Employee Working with Children's Check
- Current Drivers Licence
