About the role

We are seeking a Market Day Manager to join Craft Markets Australia on a casual basis . This is a key operational role responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of our market events across Victoria. As Market Day Manager, you will be the driving force behind creating smooth, well-organised market days that delight both traders and visitors. You will oversee all aspects of event execution, from setup and vendor management through to customer experience and breakdown. This role is essential to ensuring our markets run seamlessly and maintain the high standards our community has come to expect. You will be expected to travel to various market sites and to the Mornington head office when required.

Key responsibilities

- Arrive early on market days to oversee setup, including stall placement, facilities and general site preparation
- Welcome and check in market vendors, ensuring they have all necessary information and support to set up their stalls
- Manage vendor compliance with market rules, trading guidelines and health and safety requirements throughout the day
- Monitor site operations to ensure all areas are clean, safe and welcoming for customers
- Address trader and customer queries, concerns or complaints in a skilled and timely manner
- Manage crowd flow, parking and general customer experience throughout the market day




- Coordinate with any additional staff or volunteers assisting with the event
- Ensure all equipment, materials are accounted for and properly stored at the end of the day
- Complete event reports and provide feedback to management on the day's operations and any issues encountered
- Promote the market through engagement with visitors and vendors, building positive relationships and community connection. Update social media and post reels on market day to promote the event.

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in event management, market coordination or hospitality operations
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups including vendors, customers and team members
- Problem-solving ability and initiative to handle unexpected situations with composure and flexibility
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Physical fitness and willingness to undertake outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
- Customer service focus with a genuine passion for supporting small businesses and artisans
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the market day experience
