CMT provides social work services to older adults and their families separated by Commonwealth child migration schemes. Our clients are recovering from childhood institutional abuse, compounded by decades without knowledge of their family or identity. Contract Role 3+ months - Office based in Hawthorn - 2 to 3 days per week: Mon/Wed/Thurs
Possible school hours, but ideally 9am to 3pm.
If you are a skilled multi-tasker and want to work for a unique project, this short-term role could be for you!
We are looking for someone who can:
- Ensure our senior social worker is supported by high standards of IT, communication and information systems, well-functioning equipment and office supplies; includes task related daily activities.
- Maintain and develop our archives, databases and paper filing systems, under direction of the social work team.
- In-person support of our clients, including applications for AU and UK passports.
- Work in a small local team,
based in Hawthorn and work closely with colleagues in our Perth and UK Offices.
- Capable of ensuring a quality service, explicit communication and a consistent, one agency approach.
Qualifications & experience:
- University Degree in relevant field, preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of administration experience, ideally working in medical/legal or social work settings.
- A commitment to high professional standards through attention to detail, role boundaries and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and IT skills including experience of Office 365 and SharePoint, professional telephone manner and the ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Ability to take daily direction, follow through on urgent matters and prioritise effectively.
- Self-confident and a commitment to working with a professional team, driven by social justice principles.
- Can relate to older people - our clients were all born in the UK and sent to Australia as children.
- Driver's licence preferred but not required.
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia.
A national police check will be needed for the successful candidate.
