About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Education Consultant to join our team at ACIC Melbourne on a full-time basis. This role is based in Melbourne VIC 3000 and is integral to our student services function. As an Education Consultant, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through their educational options, providing expert advice, and ensuring they are matched with the most appropriate educational pathways for their needs and aspirations. This position is essential in delivering exceptional student support and contributing to the success of our students.

What you'll be doing

- Conducting initial consultations with prospective and current students to understand their educational goals, background, and circumstances
- Providing expert guidance on course selection and programme options that align with students' career objectives
- Assessing student requirements and recommending appropriate educational pathways and institutions
- Preparing detailed education plans and advising students on application procedures, entry requirements, and documentation needed
- Liaising with educational institutions, partner organisations and other stakeholders to ensure smooth student transitions
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation in accordance with compliance requirements
- Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for students throughout their educational journey




- Contributing to the development and maintenance of education resources and programme information
- Attending student information sessions and career expos to promote ACIC Melbourne's services
- Monitoring student progress and providing follow-up support to ensure successful outcomes

What we're looking for

- Relevant qualification in education, counselling, student services or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a student services, education advisory, or similar consultancy role
- Strong knowledge of education systems, pathways, and institutional options within Australia and international contexts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse student populations
- Demonstrated ability to provide impartial, empathetic and professional advice
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in using student management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with students from varied backgrounds
