Seeking an Educational Leader at Paisley Park Ashburton

We are a small, family-oriented private company, proud of our long history in early learning. Extending beyond 30 years, we focus on embedding a culture of collaborative professional learning and on developing strong partnerships with the local community, including local schools, allied health professionals, and registered professional training organisations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Educational Leader to join our beautiful, thoughtfully repurposed Centre in Ashburton. Our well-established Centre has recently been renovated to enhance its warm, home-like environment, creating a welcoming space where children, families and educators feel a true sense of belonging.

While we are a smaller Centre, this is one of our greatest strengths. Nestled in a picturesque, tree-lined suburb and surrounded by beautiful residential homes, our unique setting fosters strong community connections and provides a calm, nurturing environment where children can thrive. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a close-knit team that is passionate about delivering exceptional early learning experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate leader who enjoys inspiring others, leading reflective practice and making a genuine impact on teaching and learning outcomes.

As the Educational Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in teaching and learning across the service. You will mentor, guide and inspire Educators to deliver high-quality, reflective practice that supports positive outcomes for children. Tasks relevant to the role include the following.

Support Educators in planning, documenting, and assessing children’s learning through meaningful observations and intentional teaching.

Model best practice in pedagogy, inclusive education and play-based learning.

Promote a culture of critical reflection and continuous improvement.

Mentor and coach Educators to strengthen professional practice and confidence.

Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support individual and team growth.

Lead staff discussions, reflective practice sessions and professional learning opportunities.

Support educators in meeting compliance, documentation, and assessment requirements.

Ensure that Educators use the funding criteria and associated recommended tools for prior-to-school programs, and that these programs are educationally sound.

Encourage Educators to reflect on their use of digital platforms and ensure they always represent children respectfully and as capable.

Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and support service readiness for assessment and rating.

Ensure educational practices align with the National Quality Standard, particularly Quality Area 1.

Stay informed of current research, legislation and sector best practice

Work collaboratively with the Nominated Supervisor, the Centre Director, and the leadership team.

Build respectful, professional relationships with families and external professionals.

Support family engagement in children’s learning and development.

Advocate for children’s rights, wellbeing, inclusion and voice.

Ensure programs are responsive to children’s interests, strengths and cultural identities.

Promote protected, nurturing and stimulating learning environments in line with the Child Safe Standards.

Participating in our Community Engagement Program to build relationships with the local community.

Contributing to our Communities of Practice Professional Learning Program by reflecting on improvement goals and reporting on progress in exceeding practice.

Engaging in critical reflective practice and documenting leadership decisions

Working collaboratively with your 2IC, Director and Portfolio Leader and acting on directives to make service improvements.

Reflecting on your performance and participating in probationary processes, which include Appraisals,
