Assistive Technology Service & Delivery Officer

About the role

Help people maintain their independence

Scooters and Mobility West Melbourne is seeking a friendly, reliable and practical assistive technology service & delivery officer to join our growing business.

This position will initially be offered on a casual basis. Following a successful six-month period, there will be an opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time contract, subject to satisfactory performance and ongoing business requirements.

This is much more than a delivery role. You will help older Australians and people living with disabilities access mobility and daily-living equipment that improves their independence, safety and quality of life.

You will support customers in our showroom and community by delivering, assembling, demonstrating and maintaining mobility and assistive technology equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering and collecting mobility and assistive-technology equipment
- Assembling, installing and setting up equipment safely
- Demonstrating equipment features and safe operation to customers and families
- Providing professional customer service in the showroom, over the phone and in the community
- Assisting customers to understand available mobility and daily-living products
- Completing basic equipment adjustments, servicing and troubleshooting
- Inspecting products before delivery and following collection
- Loading and unloading scooters, wheelchairs, lift chairs and other equipment
- Maintaining accurate delivery, collection and service records
- Assisting with stock control, incoming deliveries and showroom displays
- Keeping the showroom, warehouse and delivery vehicle clean and organised
- Communicating with occupational therapists, care providers,



support coordinators and family members
- Escalating technical, equipment or safety concerns when required
- Following workplace health and safety, manual-handling and infection-control procedures

About you

We are looking for someone who is caring, dependable, practical and comfortable combining customer service with hands-on work.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- A current unrestricted Australian driver licence
- A safe and responsible driving history
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confidence working with older people and people living with disability
- Practical skills and confidence using basic hand tools
- The physical ability to safely load, unload and move mobility equipment
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
- A skilled, patient and respectful approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a growing team
- Flexibility to assist with showroom duties, deliveries and equipment servicing

Experience in mobility equipment, assistive technology, medical equipment, deliveries, warehousing, retail, aged care, disability services or technical servicing will be highly regarded.

Full product and equipment training will be provided to the right person.

Mandatory requirements

The successful applicant will be required to provide or obtain the following:

- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required
- Evidence of Australian working rights
- Current Australian driver licence
- Suitable professional references
