Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Due Diligence this role plays a key part in the management of Operational Due Diligence (ODD) for the entire fund. Ideally, this position will suit someone who has senior experience in leading a function, or strength in people and stakeholder management across a team, and will play a critical part of strengthening the ODD and fund governance function of this growing firm. One of the key benefits of this role is having direct access to the Head of asset classes, and executive management where the successful person will help drive strategic initiatives collaboratively with the ODD team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing the ODD review cycle plan and updating the plan with fund manager changes as directed;
- Travelling internationally is required once every quarter, and one domestic travel required as well to meet with critical external managers and the national team;
- Proactively monitor the receipt of external managers reporting obligations (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually) as per their individual Investment Management Agreements (listed and unlisted managers);
- Assisting with ODD reviews and providing recommendations prior to appointment for new fund managers or where existing fund managers are appointed to invest funds in new vehicles (asset classes/strategies);
- Proactively identify risks and make recommendations of solutions and controls that are within the Fund's risk appetite via reporting to the Funds Executive Investment Committee;
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset by identifying areas where processes related to the role/team deliverables can be improved or made more efficient through automation; AND




- Reviewing and enhancing process documents and maps that describe the activities the ODD Management Team undertakes. This includes providing input to ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage/mitigate risk.

Key Requirements:

- Tertiary education, preferably with specialisation in finance, business, or law;
- Extensive experience working in ODD, fund governance, compliance positions and/or middle back office or a superannuation fund;
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in ODD, Legal, Accounting, Investment Operations, or Audit;
- Thorough understanding of the full trade life cycle and experience with multiple asset classes;
- Experience in the investment management industry – including an understanding of investment management and back-office and CRM systems - preferred;
- Experience with line 2 risk & compliance would be advantageous in dealing with internal operational controls, and external auditors;
- Strong project management skills and experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives preferred;
- Results-orientated with a strong focus on self‑improvement, learning, and developing new skills; AND
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
