iDetect Group is an Australian leader in innovative security and monitoring solutions, delivering tailored technology to clients across a range of industries. We're looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our production operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our systems are built and delivered to the highest standard.
Reporting directly to the State Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing our production team, managing workflows, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the ongoing growth of the business.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on leadership position where no two days are the same. You'll coordinate production activities, mentor your team, manage inventory, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and supervising the production team
- Planning daily production schedules to meet installation and customer requirements
- Managing stock levels, purchasing and inventory control
- Building, programming and preparing security systems
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
- Maintaining quality assurance and ensuring company KPIs are achieved
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and toolbox meetings
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures
- Training, mentoring and developing team members
- Assisting with recruitment and onboarding as the business grows
- Maintaining a protected workplace and ensuring compliance with all WHS requirements
- Providing occasional after-hours technical support when required
About You
You're an organised leader who enjoys improving systems, solving problems and engaging people. You're equally comfortable planning production schedules as you are rolling up your sleeves to support the team.
Ideally you'll bring:
- Previous experience leading a production or manufacturing team
- Experience working within a production or technical assembly environmentStrong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent planning, organisation and time management abilities
- Experience with quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience developing procedures and improving operational efficiency
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience with IP camera or security system assembly
- Process improvement experience
- Strategic planning experience
- Inventory management experience
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current Security Licence
- White Card
- First Aid Certificate
