Orthopaedic Sales Representative — Patient-Specific Surgery | Melbourne
Represent the next generation of orthopaedic technology: patient‑specific planning and guides, from scan to surgery.
We bring to market the portfolio of Personalised Surgery — an Australian medical device company founded in 2018 by orthopaedic surgeons and biomedical engineers, building patient‑specific surgical planning and guide systems that are changing how knee preservation and reconstruction surgery is done.
We're looking for an ambitious sales skilled with 1–5 years of experience, ideally in medtech, to launch and grow this portfolio across a Melbourne territory. You won't be carrying another me‑too implant bag: you'll be introducing genuinely differentiated technology to sports medicine and knee surgeons, backed by an in‑house engineering team that plans every case.
The portfolio you'll represent
- SMART Osteotomy — a complete digital planning and patient‑matched cutting guide system for high tibial osteotomy (HTO), pairing custom surgical planning software with patient‑specific instrumentation and quality German‑made implants. It turns a traditionally complex procedure into a streamlined, guided workflow from scan to implantation.
- Recon Pilot ACL — a surgeon‑guided platform delivering personalised drill guides for accurate ACL tunnel placement and graft alignment.
- PS Allograft — pre‑operative planning that specifies the exact grafts required for each patient.
What you'll do
- Own a Melbourne metro territory: drive adoption of the Personalised Surgery portfolio among knee, sports medicine, and orthopaedic surgeons
- Provide in‑theatre case support for osteotomy and ACL cases
- Manage the scan‑to‑surgery workflow for your surgeons' cases,
working directly with Personalised Surgery's in‑house engineers on pre‑operative planning
- Demonstrate the digital planning software and app to surgeons and their teams
- Build relationships across surgeons, sports physicians, theatre staff, and practice managers
- Represent the portfolio at workshops, conferences, and surgeon education events
What we're looking for
- 1–5 years in medical device, pharmaceutical, or clinical sales — orthopaedic, sports medicine, or knee exposure strongly preferred
- OR a clinical or technical background (theatre nursing, physiotherapy, biomechanics, biomedical engineering) with a hunger to move into sales
- Comfortable in an operating theatre and genuinely curious about surgical technique — you'll be talking tibial slope and alignment correction with surgeons
- Confident with digital tools: a meaningful part of this sell is planning software, not just hardware
- Self‑starter who wants ownership of an emerging portfolio, not a mature bag with a call cycle
- Full Australian working rights and a current driver's licence
What's in it for you
- Territory ownership with a differentiated, patient‑specific portfolio — you own the results, and they're visibly yours
- Direct access to the engineers and surgeon founders behind the products — rare in this industry
- Structured clinical and product training, including case planning and surgeon workshops
- A story surgeons actually want to hear: patient‑specific technology in a market crowded with sameness
- An attractive package for the right candidate, with uncapped bonuses
If you're an associate rep waiting for a territory that never comes, a sports‑med‑adjacent rep who wants technology worth believing in, or a clinician ready for the commercial side — we'd like to hear from you.
