I'm looking for someone who understands what's at stake when heavy plant doesn't arrive on time. Someone who can think three steps ahead, solve problems before they become issues, and coordinate the safe, compliant movement of heavy equipment across multiple projects and multiple states.

The Organization

The organization is a prominent Australian heavy equipment and machinery solutions provider serving the mining, civil, and construction industries, nationwide. They specialize in contract mining, heavy equipment rental, and used machinery sales. A growing organisation with a significant fleet of mining, civil end construction equipment with an equally impressive commitment to customer satisfaction. The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you'll take ownership of the planning and coordination of heavy haulage operations, ensuring equipment is delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and coordinating heavy plant and oversized equipment movements.
- Scheduling transport in line with operational and project requirements.
- Allocate appropriate vehicle/trailer/driver based on load dimensions and site requirements. Managing permits for oversized and over-mass loads, loading/unloading times and shutdown windows.
- Coordinating escort vehicles, traffic management and route approvals where required.
- Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility legislation and transport regulations.
- Working closely with internal drivers, external transport contractors and site personnel.



Including pre-start briefings with clear instructions on routes and other requirements and details.
- Coordinate JHAs, SWMS and lift/transport plans, including verifying plant is correctly prepared, secured and isolated for transport.
- Monitoring contractor performance, resolve any operational issues and investigate any incidents or near-misses.
- Track transport costs and variations against budget. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency across transport operations.
- Maintaining accurate transport documentation and reporting including - utilization and performance metrics, permits, load assessments and fatigue records.

About You

You'll already have experience coordinating heavy haulage within mining, civil construction or heavy equipment. More importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys being organised, thrives under pressure and knows how to keep multiple moving parts under control.

To be successful, you'll bring:

- Proven experience in heavy haulage, transport or logistics coordination.
- Certificate or Diploma in Business, Logistics or a Mechanical discipline, highly desirable.
- Exposure to mining, civil construction or heavy equipment operations.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
- Experience managing transport contractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset. with high attention to details and accuracy.
- Robust communication skills and the confidence to make decisions.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Pronto Xi or similar.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and advanced analysis abilities.
- Current Driver's Licence.
