Bowen's Customs & Logistics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Customs Broker to join our Customs team. This is a full-time position based in Taren Point, NSW. As a Customs Broker, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth movement of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with all customs and quarantine regulations, and providing professional advice to clients navigating the complexities of international trade.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and lodging customs declarations for import shipments in accordance with Australian Border Force (ABF) and Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of Australia (DAFF) regulations
- Liaising with clients, freight forwarders, shipping companies, ABF, DAFF to facilitate the clearance of goods
- Calculating and ensuring accurate payment of customs duties, excise and other applicable taxes and levies
- Providing professional advice to clients on tariff classifications, rules of origin and Customs / Quarantine / IFIP procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of all customs declarations and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitoring changes in customs legislation and regulations to ensure continued compliance
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ABF, DAFF, and freight industry partners

What we’re looking for

- Valid Australian Customs Broker Licence with up-to-date CPD points.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Customs Act 1901, Biosecurity Act 2015, and associated regulations
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, tariff classifications, customs valuation and preferential trade agreements




- Proficiency with Cargowise, COLS, BICON, IC y Microsoft software systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex customs issues
- A proactive and dependable team player with a strong work ethic who contributes positively to our supportive, values-driven workplace culture
