Job Description

Fitter (General) Integra Water Treatment Solutions is a national, Australian-owned company specialising in Water Treatment, Waste Water, Pre-Treatment and Cleaning and Hygiene chemicals. Due to an internal promotion our Adelaide operation is looking for a Fitter to work in our Pre-Treatment and Filtration Division. Responsibilities Engineering and Fabrication

- Interpret technical engineering drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs; to plan the fabrication and assembly of filtration systems, selecting correct materials and specialised tooling configurations.
- Configure workshop machine tools (mills, lathes) by adjusting stops, guides, dies, and control settings for accurate operations.
- Shape and finish customised stainless steel parts and skid frames by operating milling and lathe machines.
- Weld stainless steel pipework, brackets, and structural frames for water treatment plant skids.
- Select and fabricate high-pressure pipework and fittings (schedule-rated PVC, stainless, tri-clamp/flanged joints) to correct pressure ratings.
- Assemble industrial water equipment by integrating manufactured components and aligning motor-pump subunits into fully functioning mechanical systems.
- Assemble and overhaul industrial pumps (feed, transfer, high-pressure), fitting impellers, shafts, and mechanical seals.

Installation and Commissioning

- Install and align high-pressure feed pumps, energy recovery devices, and couplings to spec.
- Install and route fluid transfer systems by measuring, shaping, joining, and securing hydraulic, pneumatic, and process tubing.
- Install pretreatment, micro/ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis skids, including membrane and module fitment, manifold connections, and correct alignment.
- Install multimedia filters, water softeners, and cartridge pre-filter housings, including resin bed setup and multiport/backwash valve configuration.




- Install and calibrate chemical dosing systems (antiscalant, dechlorination, pH correction, coagulant/flocculant), including dosing pump setup and injection point plumbing.
- Load, align, and torque RO membrane pressure vessels and elements to spec (membrane orientation, o-ring/interconnector fitment, end cap torque).
- Install and set feed, reject, permeate-diversion, flush, and air scour valves (manual and actuated).
- Fit and calibrate process instrumentation — pressure transmitters, flow meters, conductivity/TDS probes.
- Inspect completed components with calibrated gauges and measuring devices to verify dimensional precision and tolerances.
- Pressure- and leak-test assembled skids and pipework prior to commissioning, to correct hydrostatic/operating standards.
- Commission plant equipment and set correct automated sequencing across pretreatment, MF/UF, and RO trains.

Service and Troubleshooting

- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, conduct preventive servicing, and restore performance of plant machinery.
- Service and rebuild industrial pumps, replacing worn or damaged impellers, shafts, and mechanical seals.
- Service multimedia filters, water softeners, and cartridge pre-filter housings, including resin bed servicing, backwash timing adjustment, and seal replacement.
- Service and troubleshoot backwash, CEB, and CIP systems across pretreatment, MF/UF, and RO trains.
- Troubleshoot and repair automated and manual valve faults (feed, reject, permeate-diversion, flush, and air scour).
- Troubleshoot and recalibrate process instrumentation to restore correct process control.

Requirements

- Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.
- Ability to work under pressure.

Position: Full Time (at least 38 hours per week) Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year Location: 20 Taminga St, Regency Park – Adelaide SA 5010
