Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - KS2

Salisbury | Full time | £100-£105 per day

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large, welcoming primary school in the heart of Salisbury who are looking to appoint a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional who enjoys supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 while making a real difference to pupils' progress and confidence.

The Role

As a HLTA, you will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences and provide high-quality support throughout the school day. You will lead small group interventions, support pupils with varying learning needs, and occasionally cover classes when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting teaching and learning across KS2.
- Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Working alongside class teachers to prepare and deliver engaging lessons.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement.
- Supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

The Ideal Candidate

- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or has significant experience working at HLTA level.
- Has previous experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting, ideally KS2.




- Is confident leading small group sessions and supporting whole-class learning.
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- Is proactive, adaptable and committed to helping every child succeed.
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Teaching Personnel Vetting Process

To ensure the highest safeguarding standards are met, all applicants will be subject to Teaching Personnel's comprehensive compliance and vetting process. This includes:

- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Right to Work in the UK checks.
- Verification of identity and proof of address.




- A full employment history with any gaps explained.
- Professional references covering the previous two years.
- Verification of relevant qualifications.
- Completion of safeguarding and compliance checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
