This role is based at PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, which is conveniently located adjacentto Melbourne Airport. Featuring276 guest accommodation rooms, over 1000 square metres of conferencing space and the Airo Restaurant & Bar,PARKROYAL Melbourne Airportis the perfect landing place.

PARKROYAL Melbourne Airportis looking to appoint an experienced Handyperson/ Painter to join our team, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. This role is on a rotating Roster, Monday to Friday, Tuesday to Saturday.

You will be responsible for:

Perform day-to day general maintenance duties within the hotel

Respond promptly to maintenance issues/requests and emergency calls

Conduct regular inspection tours of the hotel to ensure all operating equipment is working correctly

Record and file all required results obtained as part of preventative maintenance inspections.

Inform immediately the Chief Engineer/2IC of any major issues observed from inspections/observations

Perform mechanical functions

Work closely with other engineering associates on any project or schedule

Maintain all tools, equipment and working areas in proper condition

Perform any other task as requested by the chief engineer/2IC to ensure smooth operations of the hotel.

Follow all Occupational Health and Safety rules within the department and the hotel

Demonstrate exceptional customer service when engaging with guests

Have understanding and respect for all associates and 3rd parties whilst acting as a hotel representative

Ideally you will have:

At least 2-3 years previous hotel handyperson/ painter experience or of similar professional background. (hospital’s, cruise-ships,



building facility management etc)

The following areas are strongly desirable for this position, you don’t need to have all, but extensive experience in some of these areas will see you highly regarded: mechanical experience in FCU’s & A/C’s, tiling experience, carpentry skills

This position requires to work on a weekend and occasionally out of hours depending on requirement

Must be a team player.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, behaviour, attitude and values.

Ability to work without close supervision, within established timeframes and job parameters.

Robust work ethic, willing to take ownership of jobs and be proud of outcomes.

Be able to manage a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day, sometimes overlapping priorities.

Ability to identify and initiate simple resolutions/rectifications with-out having to be told.
