Who we are

Everhomes is a registered Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provider supporting people with disability to live with greater choice, autonomy and dignity.

We are not a traditional property management organisation. Our focus is on providing homes that work for the people who live in them and responding to maintenance issues in a way that respects each participant’s safety, privacy and individual needs.

About the role

We are looking for a practical, organised and solutions-focused Facilities and Maintenance Officer to join our team.

You will coordinate assigned maintenance and repair matters across Everhomes’ growing property portfolio, managing each job from initial request through to completion. This includes assessing urgency, gathering information, engaging contractors, communicating with stakeholders and ensuring work is completed to an appropriate standard.

Although the processes are structured, the problems rarely arrive in neat little boxes. Two reports of a leaking tap may require completely different responses depending on the property, the cause and the needs of the person living there.

You will have support from the broader Facilities team, with guidance and escalation available for urgent, complex or higher-risk matters. You are not required to personally undertake trade work.

This role suits someone who enjoys understanding how things work, getting to the root cause of issues, and learning from experience. It also suits someone who enjoys agile work, where priorities can shift and each day brings a different mix of maintenance matters to resolve.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Receiving, assessing and triaging maintenance and repair requests according to urgency, safety, participant needs and operational requirements.

- Managing assigned maintenance jobs from initial report through to completion.

- Gathering accurate information to understand the issue and determine the most appropriate next steps.

- Engaging and coordinating suitably qualified contractors and tradespeople.

- Obtaining and reviewing quotes, seeking approvals and monitoring expenditure in accordance with Everhomes’ processes.

- Scheduling works with participants, support teams, property owners, contractors and internal staff.

- Providing clear and timely updates to participants and other relevant stakeholders.

- Monitoring outstanding jobs and proactively following up contractors, approvals and required information.

- Checking that completed work meets the reported need and addressing incomplete or unsatisfactory outcomes.

- Maintaining accurate job notes, correspondence, photographs, quotes, invoices and other records within Everhomes’ property management systems.

- Identifying recurring maintenance issues, emerging property risks and opportunities for preventative maintenance.

- Escalating urgent, complex, high-cost or safety-related matters appropriately.

- Supporting facilities projects, property inspections, compliance activities and general maintenance administration when required.

- Ensuring maintenance responses protect the safety, privacy and dignity of participants and align with relevant NDIS and SDA requirements.

Training will be provided in Everhomes’ systems, processes and relevant NDIS and SDA requirements.

Let’s talk about you

You are practical, curious and persistent.

You want to understand why something has happened—not merely forward an email to a contractor and hope for the best.

You will bring:

- Strong practical problem-solving skills and sound judgement.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- The ability to communicate respectfully with people with disability, families, support workers, contractors, property owners and colleagues.

- Strong organisation and time-management skills.

- The ability to assess urgency and manage changing priorities.

- Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

- Confidence following up outstanding work and holding contractors accountable for agreed outcomes.

- The ability to work independently while recognising when a matter requires collaboration or escalation.

- Confidence using email, Microsoft 365 and digital business systems.

Previous experience in maintenance coordination, facilities, property, construction, trade administration or a similar operational role will be highly regarded but is not essential.

What we offer
